A fixer is the local production professional who makes everything work in a market you don't know. You tell us what you need to shoot. We make it happen. Locations, permits, crew, gear, vehicles, lodging, meals, safety, and every logistical variable between your creative vision and a wrapped production.
Alaska Production Company operates as a full-service production fixer across the entire state of Alaska. We are not a one-person facilitator handing you a list of phone numbers. We are an integrated production services company with the crew network, equipment inventory, vendor relationships, and operational infrastructure to execute your shoot from the inside.
Locations and Access
Alaska is 663,300 square miles governed by overlapping federal, state, municipal, and Alaska Native Corporation jurisdictions. We know where to go, how to get there, and who to call. We provide location scouting with photo packages, GPS coordinates, and permits secured across every land jurisdiction in the state.
Crew
We staff productions from our statewide network of vetted, experienced local crew. Camera operators, sound mixers, gaffers, grips, PAs, production managers, hair and makeup, wardrobe, and specialty positions including wilderness safety coordinators, bear guards, and marine safety officers.
Equipment
Cinema camera packages, full grip and electric inventory sourced locally, drone platforms, audio kits, and monitoring. No need to ship your entire G&E truck from LA when we can stage it in Alaska.
Logistics
Ground transportation, lodging, catering, fuel, daily scheduling, and multi-location coordination across vast distances. Bush plane charters, helicopter access, marine vessel bookings, and snowmachine transport. We manage the physical infrastructure of your shoot in environments where the nearest town might be 200 miles away.
Permits and Compliance
City, borough, state, federal, and Alaska Native Corporation filming permits. National Park Service, US Forest Service, BLM, and Fish and Wildlife coordination. FAA Part 107 drone compliance. NOAA wildlife compliance. Coast Guard coordination for marine work. We handle the paperwork so your crew handles the camera.
Safety
Alaska is not a controlled environment. Bear safety, glacier safety, marine safety, avalanche awareness, extreme cold protocols, and emergency evacuation planning are standard parts of every production we support. We embed certified safety personnel directly into your crew.
Basecamp and Off-Grid Operations
Generator power, satellite communications, heated shelters, field kitchens, and sanitation for productions operating in locations with no roads, no power, and no cell service. We build and operate the infrastructure your crew needs to work in Alaska's most remote environments.
Documentary and Unscripted Television
Network documentary and unscripted crews are the most common fixer clients. NatGeo, Discovery, BBC, PBS, Netflix, and independent documentary teams come to Alaska constantly. They need someone local who knows the terrain, the communities, the wildlife patterns, and the logistics of operating in environments that don't work like anywhere else.
International Productions
Crews from Europe, Asia, and other international markets shooting in Alaska need a fixer who can bridge the gap between their production standards and Alaska's unique operational reality. We coordinate everything from customs and equipment import to local talent sourcing and cultural guidance.
Commercial and Brand Productions
LA and New York agencies sending creative teams to Alaska for brand campaigns and commercial shoots hire us as their service producer, which is the agency-world term for exactly what a fixer does, plus insurance, contracts, and AICP-format bidding.
Cruise Line and Tourism Productions
Cruise lines and tourism boards filming across multiple Alaska ports need a fixer who can stage crew and equipment at each stop. We coordinate multi-port production logistics from Juneau to Seward to Ketchikan.
Adventure and Expedition Content
Extreme sports, mountaineering, and expedition productions in Alaska's backcountry need a fixer who can operate in the same environments the athletes are performing in. Ice climbing, heliskiing, kayaking, dog mushing, and multi-day wilderness expeditions.
We operate statewide. Anchorage and the Mat-Su Valley. Juneau and Southeast Alaska. Fairbanks and the Interior. Denali. Valdez and Prince William Sound. Seward and Kenai Fjords. Homer and the bear viewing parks. Kodiak Island. Nome and Western Alaska. The North Slope and Arctic coast. Glaciers, ice caves, and snow environments year-round.
If your production needs to get somewhere in Alaska, we have been there and we can get you there.
A solo fixer gives you one person's knowledge and one person's phone. We give you an entire production infrastructure. A vetted crew network across every department. Equipment inventory staged in-state. Insurance and contractual accountability sized for commercial-scale work. Established relationships with pilots, guides, charter operators, and vendors across the state. And a team that can scale from a 3-person documentary crew to a 30-person international commercial production.
Clients include MSC Cruises, Pratt & Whitney, Birkenstock, Lands' End, Solo Stove, DUDE Wipes, Ridge, Celsius, Melin, and Faherty. Our crew network includes professionals who have worked on productions for National Geographic, Discovery, BBC, and HBO.
