Fairbanks is where Alaska gets extreme. Winter temperatures drop below -40. Summer brings nearly 24 hours of daylight. The northern lights are visible more than 200 nights per year. No other production location in North America offers this range of dramatic natural conditions.
We provide full production services in Fairbanks and use it as the staging base for productions operating across Interior and Arctic Alaska.
Northern Lights
Fairbanks sits directly under the auroral oval and is one of the most reliable aurora filming locations on earth. Clear skies, low light pollution outside of town, and long dark nights from September through March create ideal conditions for aurora cinematography.
Extreme Cold
Productions that need authentic deep-winter environments come to Fairbanks. Frost-covered landscapes, ice fog, frozen rivers, and the visual drama of -30 and -40 degree conditions. We provide full extreme cold production support including gear management, crew safety, warming shelters, and winter logistics.
Midnight Sun
From May through July, Fairbanks receives nearly continuous daylight. Summer solstice brings over 22 hours of direct sunlight. Productions can shoot extended days without losing light, and the low sun angle creates golden-hour quality light that lasts for hours rather than minutes.
Gateway to the Arctic
Fairbanks is the jumping-off point for productions heading to the North Slope, the Dalton Highway, the Brooks Range, and Arctic Alaska. The Dalton Highway runs 414 miles from Fairbanks to Deadhorse and Prudhoe Bay, crossing the Arctic Circle and passing through some of the most remote terrain accessible by road in North America.
Downtown and University District
Historic downtown, the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus, and the Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center. Small-city Alaska with a frontier character distinct from Anchorage.
Chena River and Hot Springs
The Chena River runs through town and provides winter ice and summer water recreation environments. Chena Hot Springs, 60 miles east, is a year-round destination combining geothermal activity with aurora viewing and ice art.
The Dalton Highway Corridor
The haul road to the Arctic. Tundra, boreal forest, mountain passes, river crossings, and the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. Iconic for documentary, automotive, and adventure content.
Surrounding Wilderness
Vast Interior Alaska forests, river systems, and mountain ranges in every direction. Moose, caribou, and wolf habitat. Gold mining districts and historic communities.
We provide crew staffing, equipment, location scouting and permitting, lodging coordination, ground transportation, and basecamp operations for productions operating in and around Fairbanks. For productions continuing into the Arctic, we manage the full logistics chain including fuel staging, satellite communications, and wilderness safety.

No more sitting on the sidelines. Stand out with compelling, story-driven visuals from the Last Frontier.
