The North Slope of Alaska stretches from the Brooks Range to the Arctic Ocean. Utqiagvik, formerly Barrow, is the northernmost city in the United States. This is the Arctic. Sea ice, polar bears, whaling culture, extreme darkness in winter, 24-hour sun in summer, and industrial oil infrastructure operating in one of the harshest environments on earth.
Productions come here because no other location in the US looks like this. We provide the logistical infrastructure to operate in an environment where self-sufficiency is not optional.
Arctic Ocean and Sea Ice
The coast of the Arctic Ocean provides sea ice formations, pressure ridges, open leads, and a frozen seascape that extends to the horizon. In summer, the ice retreats and the coastline opens to marine operations. Both seasons offer visuals found nowhere else in North America.
Polar Bears
The North Slope is polar bear habitat. Productions filming in polar bear territory require dedicated safety personnel and protocols. We coordinate bear guards and wildlife safety as part of every North Slope engagement.
Utqiagvik
The northernmost US city. Whaling culture, Inupiat community life, extreme polar conditions, and a surprisingly vibrant small town at the edge of the continent. Productions involving Inupiat culture should engage our cultural consulting services.
Prudhoe Bay and Oil Infrastructure
The Prudhoe Bay oil complex is the largest in North America. Industrial infrastructure operating in extreme Arctic conditions provides a unique visual environment for energy, engineering, and industrial documentary content. Access requires coordination with operating companies and North Slope Borough permitting.
Extreme Conditions
Winter darkness extends from November through January with zero sunrise. Temperatures drop to -40 and below with wind chill. Summer brings 24-hour daylight and temperatures that may reach the 40s. Both extremes are cinematically powerful and both require serious operational planning.
The North Slope is accessible by air from Anchorage or Fairbanks. Utqiagvik has scheduled jet service. Deadhorse and Prudhoe Bay are accessible by air or via the Dalton Highway from Fairbanks (a 14-hour drive). There is no road access to Utqiagvik.
Everything required for production must be flown in or trucked up the Dalton Highway. Lodging, food, fuel, equipment, and crew all require advance coordination. Weather delays are common and must be built into schedules.
We manage all North Slope logistics including flights, cargo, equipment shipping, lodging, ground transportation, permits through the North Slope Borough and relevant land managers, wildlife safety coordination, and full basecamp operations for remote shoots. Satellite communications are essential and provided as part of our logistics package. Full service producer support available.

No more sitting on the sidelines. Stand out with compelling, story-driven visuals from the Last Frontier.
