A service producer is the local production company that executes on the ground for an out-of-state client. We sit between your visiting production team and the Alaska market. Your director, DP, and agency team fly in focused on creative. We handle everything else.
That means booking local crew across all departments. Sourcing gear locally or coordinating shipments from Anchorage, Seattle, or LA. Pulling permits from city, state, and federal land managers. Negotiating vendor contracts with charter boats, aircraft operators, locations, and excursion providers. Managing day-to-day logistics including hotels, vehicles, drivers, basecamp, and catering. And being the single accountable point of contact in the market for the duration of the production.
Local Knowledge
Alaska is not like the Lower 48. Weather patterns, permit jurisdictions, wildlife regulations, marine rules, aviation coordination, and ground logistics all operate differently here. A producer in LA trying to run a Juneau or Anchorage shoot remotely is going to make expensive mistakes. We already know which charter operators are reliable, which permits take weeks versus hours, which locations require federal versus state coordination, and which vendors can actually perform at commercial scale.
Operational Infrastructure
We have existing relationships with local crew, gear sources, vendors, and agencies across the state. We can staff and execute in days, not weeks. We know who to call and who to avoid. That network took years to build and it is the reason productions run smoothly here.
Risk Transfer
This is the piece most people don't talk about publicly but everyone in the industry understands. When you hire a service producer, operational responsibility flows to the local company. We carry commercial production insurance, hold the permits, sign the vendor contracts, and take contractual responsibility for operational execution. Your production gets to operate in Alaska without absorbing the operational exposure of a market you don't know. We carry coverage sized for commercial-scale work and our clients are named as additional insureds on our policies.

Marine and Aviation
Charter boats, safety boats, marine coordinators, Part 107 drone operators, GSS aircraft coordination, float planes, and helicopters. Alaska productions frequently require water and air access that doesn't exist in standard vendor directories.
Logistics
Hotels, vans, drivers, basecamp, honeywagons or alternative home base models, catering, craft services, walkies, and production supplies. We manage the physical infrastructure of your shoot.
Production Office
Call sheets, daily production reports, payroll coordination, petty cash management, and vendor payments. Full budget management and wrap accounting services available.
We carry commercial production insurance including general liability, workers compensation, equipment coverage, auto liability, and umbrella coverage. We deliver certificates of insurance, additional insured endorsements, and workers comp documentation as part of every engagement. We manage permit compliance at city, borough, state, and federal levels, Part 107 drone compliance, NOAA wildlife compliance where applicable, and Coast Guard coordination for marine work.
