Blackmagic Design URSA Cine Immersive Camera
We shoot 180° stereoscopic immersive video on the Blackmagic Design URSA Cine Immersive, the world's first purpose-built cinema camera for Apple Immersive Video. This is not a consumer VR rig or a multi-camera array stitched together in post. It's a single, integrated cinema camera system designed from the ground up for stereoscopic 3D immersive capture.
Dual 8K Sensors
The URSA Cine Immersive captures 8160 x 7200 resolution per eye using dual matched 58-megapixel RGBW sensors with pixel-level synchronization. The result is stereoscopic 3D imagery with a level of depth, clarity, and presence that previous VR camera systems could not achieve.
16 Stops of Dynamic Range
Alaska's lighting conditions are extreme. Blinding glacier reflections, deep ice cave interiors, midnight sun, northern lights. The URSA Cine Immersive captures 16 stops of dynamic range in 12-bit Blackmagic RAW, preserving detail in the brightest highlights and deepest shadows simultaneously. This is essential for immersive content where the viewer controls where they look and every part of the frame needs to hold up.
Up to 90fps Capture
Smooth, high-frame-rate capture at up to 90fps eliminates the motion artifacts and judder that make lesser VR content uncomfortable to watch. This is critical for immersive experiences where viewer comfort and presence depend on fluid, natural motion.
Custom Stereoscopic Lens System
The camera's fixed custom lens pair provides a full 180°+ field of view with a 64mm interaxial distance that matches the spacing of human eyes. This creates a natural, comfortable sense of depth that places the viewer physically inside the scene rather than watching it on a screen.

The URSA Cine Immersive is purpose-built for Apple Immersive Video, the highest quality immersive format currently available. Content captured on this system is designed for playback on Apple Vision Pro, delivering an experience that combines ultra-high-resolution stereoscopic imagery with spatial audio to create a level of presence and immersion that no other consumer device can match.
Immersive video without spatial audio is only half the experience. We capture full spatial audio alongside every immersive shoot, placing sound directionally in the 3D environment so the viewer hears the glacier cracking behind them, the river rushing to their left, the wind sweeping across the tundra from every direction.
Our spatial audio capture integrates directly with the immersive video pipeline, ensuring that sound and image are perfectly synchronized and spatially aligned through post-production and final delivery.
